As the Senior UX Designer for Amazon's Insurance Store, my role is a fusion of strategic design thinking and innovative execution. With a strong focus on customer-centric design, I spearhead this pioneering product's UX design and strategy, overseeing its design from conception to launch and beyond.

My responsibilities include identifying and researching user needs, crafting intuitive and engaging user journeys, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, engineers, and data scientists to turn visions into functional, user-friendly interfaces.

I have pushed the boundaries of traditional insurance shopping experiences on this project, integrating Amazon's signature ease of use with complex insurance offerings. By championing user feedback and incorporating cutting-edge design principles, I've transformed the typically overwhelming process of purchasing insurance into an effortless, transparent, and empowering experience for millions of Amazon customers.


This role is a testament to my ability to take on uncharted territories, navigate complex problem spaces, and deliver solutions that satisfy user needs and drive business goals and innovation.

What I did

At Amazon, my responsibilities included:

  • Leading the end-to-end design process of Amazon's Insurance Store, which offers a platform for customers to search, compare, and purchase home and car insurance.
  • Conducting comprehensive user research to identify customer needs and preferences within the insurance-buying journey.
  • Creating user personas and mapping user journeys, leveraging these insights to inform and shape the design of the platform.
  • Developing intuitive, user-friendly wireframes and prototypes, guiding the direction of the product's visual and interactive design.
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and data scientists to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
  • Testing and iterating on designs based on user feedback and usability testing, ensuring an optimal user experience.
  • Overseeing the product's launch and post-launch enhancements, continuously evaluating its performance and making necessary adjustments.
  • Championing the customer-centric design approach throughout the project, ensuring the platform aligns with Amazon's ethos of prioritizing customer experience.
  • Transforming the typically complex and cumbersome insurance shopping experience into a simple, transparent, and user-friendly process.

The impact and achievements of my work on the Amazon Insurance Store have been substantial and wide-reaching:

  • Successful Product Launch:
    The Amazon Insurance Store, catering to home insurance, was successfully launched across web and mobile platforms for the UK market. This launch represented a significant milestone for Amazon, adding a new dimension to its service offerings and placing the company at the forefront of the online insurance market.
  • Mobile Car Insurance Design:
    I successfully led the car insurance design for mobile & desktop. By focusing on a mobile-first approach, we ensured that the platform was accessible and easy to use for our customers, further enhancing their Amazon experience.
  • User Experience Improvements:
    Continual iterations on the comparison user experience have led to a more streamlined and user-friendly design, enabling customers to make more informed and confident decisions about their insurance choices. These improvements have contributed to increased user satisfaction and engagement with the platform.
  • Price Comparison Page Redesign:
    By redesigning the price comparison page, we've made it simpler and more intuitive for users to compare insurance options. This has increased user satisfaction and led to a notable rise in conversion rates.

    Conducting extensive user research has provided valuable insights into our customers' needs and preferences. These insights have been instrumental in shaping our design and strategy, allowing us to serve our customers better and continually enhance our product based on real user feedback.
